How-to (If you have your own host)

Hi,

Here is a short guide on using the customizable Flash cartoons on your own blog & website.

1. Download the related .zip file.
.Zip files contains the .swf file you need.

You will find the requirred code on blog page.

2. Upload the swf file to your server, ask a friend or check free hosting services if you don't have a server or hosting option.
Note the new url of the swf file.

3. Update the .swf url in the code, you need to change it 2 times in different lines.Find these lines in code and replace;

param name="movie" value=http://www.yourdomain.com/christmas1eng.swf?text=Customize this text"

embed src=http://www.yourdomain.com/ christmas1eng.swf?text=Customize this text

4. Now, we will customize the text in .swf file.In the same lines above, just replace the text;

"Customize this text"

with your own text.

Repeat the same action for both lines.

Don't write a novel and check if your new text fits well in the speech bubble later.

5. Copy the new code and paste it on your blog template.
Please save a copy of your current template so you can replace the original template if you make something wrong.
You need to paste the code in "Sidebar" content codes.
Search for the tag "!-- Begin #sidebar --" and paste the code somewhere below this line.

6. Save the changes on template and republish your blog.

HOW-TO ( If you don’t have your own host )

Hi,

Many blog users don’t have their own host or server.So I will keep the files on my server, and your blog template can call the files from my server.File sizes are small so I hope I can host many files for some time.But I can’t guarantee to host them forever if there will be many users.So, if you have another hosting option, please use it and let others kill my bandwith :)

Hi,

"BLOGcartoons" is a FREE service by CartoonBanners.com and offers you customizable Flash cartoons for your blogs and websites.
All the cartoons are developed by Mehmet Saygin who has a great Flash portfolio and a fun, animation/illustration blog.
Well, it is me :)

I was thinking of a new way to make CartoonBanners.com more popular.Then I realized how am I happy with my own blog and how do people likes to write & read blogs. Most of blog writers are not able to add some extras to their blogs for more fun and they are limited with templates.
So, I think it is a good idea to offer some free, customizable animations for more fun blog pages.

Well, actually not 100% free, those animations are some kind of an ad-ware with a very little link at the bottom to my site.

I will be posting animations on holidays mostly like Christmas, Valentine's Day, etc... so please check often for latest additions.
I will also design some cute characters with speech bubbles so you can share messages through them on your blogs.

I hope these animations will help you to improve your blogs and websites.
